- שִׁעֲמוּם, שִׁי׳m. (שִׁעֲמֵם) 1) dullness, idiocy. Keth.V, 5 הבטלה מביאתה לידי ש׳ idleness may lead her to idiocy; (corr. acc. quot. s. v. בַּטָּלָה). 2) (= בעל ש׳) dull-minded man, idiot. Sot.24a sq.; 27a; Num. R. s. 928> אשת ש׳ the wife of an idiot.
